Anything new brings with it a greater or lesser degree of nervousness. The following is an overview of what a typical first visit to the clinic will be like, and is therefore intended to give you a sense of familiarity when you arrive for your first consultation.
We look forward to welcoming you!
You will be greeted by one of our secretaries, who will welcome you and first ask you for your health insurance card. Due to the reimbursement from the National Health Insurance, this is required as proof that you have actually been to the clinic. We will also use it the first time to enter your data into our electronic medical record.
You will receive an information sheet about the clinic and a health information form that we will ask you to fill out. The form gives you the opportunity to think about your current symptoms (is it pain, tension, numbness, sleeping sensations or something else?) and any health problems you may have had in the past.
Therefore, we will usually ask you to arrive around 10 minutes before your appointment time.
Immediately before the consultation, you will be taken to a changing cubicle where a more precise description of the required change of clothes is posted.
Normally, you will be treated in loose-fitting clothing or underwear, but if you have special requests, we will always find a solution,
The first thing you will have the opportunity to explain the problem you want help with.
The background of the problem will also be clarified in order to start preventive work from the beginning, if possible.
Both clinics have the ability to perform X-ray examinations. X-rays are by no means necessary in all cases, but especially in accident cases, such as whiplash injuries, images will most likely be taken. The assessment is based on the medical history and examination.
During the examination, we try to find the cause of the symptoms. At the same time, the context in which your current problem exists must be investigated. Therefore, the examination will not only include the area around where the symptoms are located, but will instead be a total review of the musculoskeletal system. This is where we differ from other chiropractors. If it's your first time seeing a chiropractor, each part of the treatment will be explained to you in detail as the treatment progresses so you can follow what's happening.
At the end of the examination, we will talk to you about what is causing your symptoms, whether anything can be done about it and, if so, what needs to be done. Any further necessary examinations will be discussed. Exercises and other measures to ensure the best possible outcome of the treatment will be discussed.
If necessary, the chiropractor has the option to draw on the expertise of physiotherapists or massage therapists from the start or during treatment.
Finally, we will talk to you about how your body will react to the treatment, so you will also have a safe feeling of recognition in this context. We agree on how long it will take until the next appointment, and a more precise appointment time is made together with the secretary.
In order to treat you, we need to create a medical record. For this record, we will verbally collect the data we deem necessary and, if necessary, collect examination results from elsewhere. The mere fact that you book an appointment and start the examination and treatment is considered consent to the collection of this data. This consent can be withdrawn at any time and the medical record can be deleted. We are obliged to keep your medical record for at least 10 years.Your medical record can also be transferred to another authorized practitioner at your request, printed out for you or sent to, for example, an insurance company with your express written consent.
See more about prices under Prices and reimbursement.
Check if you have health insurance that will cover your treatments. If you do, you can contact them and ask them to send us an email with an authorization stating how many treatments they will cover and what time period applies.
Also note that Sygeforsikringen Danmark will pay approximately 1/3 of each treatment if you are a member. We send receipts to them directly.
